Just like butter

October 26, 2010

I have a confession to make.  I’m a sap.  No, really.  I’m a great big emotional SAP.  I never really thought I was.  Having kids did me in though.  Well, correction.  Having kids started it.  Having kids with an AMAZING daddy just made it worse.  There’s seriously something about seeing my kids and their dad that just make my heart melt like a giant tub of butter.  Yup.  There it is.  I’m a sap.

I’m finding though, as I watch my kids grow, that it’s transferring.  I’m not just a sap for daddies that love their babies.  I’m a sap for older siblings as they develop special bonds with their younger brothers and sisters.

Christopher has commented a lot as Michaela has hit her first milestones that he’s grateful to be home with us as we go about our day.  There are SO many things about the little ones that he would miss out on if he wasn’t homeschooling.  It’s nice that he is the one noticing those things and it is icing on the cake in terms of why we have chosen to educate our children at home.  It’s not the main reason, but it sure adds to it!  This week, I was able to capture a small moment of him with his baby sister and realized that giant tub of butter was melting ALL over the place.

Absolutely beautiful. Just the way our Savior intended family to be.
