Happy Birthday!! (round 2)

October 25, 2010

This time of year is big for birthdays in our house.  Michaela started off the celebration and we’ll continue every 2-3 weeks until December.  It’s a lot of fun, but it makes for a bit of a crazy schedule.  Due to some other things happening this weekend, Erin’s 8th birthday celebration was stretched out over three days — not that she was complaining.  😉

Friday night we attended the homecoming parade.  Normally, the parade is just a little over an hour.  Thanks to an election year (ugh) it was about DOUBLE that.  It’s sad when kids are asking “is this over yet?”  It was a lot of fun watching daddy march down in the alumni band to start off the parade though.  It made me miss it just a smidge, but not enough to do it with all the kiddos.  😉

Saturday, her gifts arrived.  I had expected to at least wrap them, but why waste time? right?  She decided that the Amazon wrapping boxes was sufficient.  I love that girl.  Practical…at least some times.

While the presents are nice, THIS is what makes her heart sing.  Erin loves it when she’s doted on.  Her brothers graciously (ok, not) posed for several pictures kissing her…then they attacked her for a sister sandwich.  Her face says it all.

Sunday…CAKE!  I truly enjoy making the kids their cakes.  This time was a little difficult due to velcro baby not wanting to be unattached from me.  Andrew was able to distract her for a little while on Sunday so I could make it though.

In keeping with the Cinderella or princess theme…

(and for MaMaw…icing on the nose)

Happy 8th Birthday, Erin Grace!!
