First Fruits

July 23, 2010

It has been so much fun for us to work in the garden the last few days.  Things are really taking off and we’re starting to see those first fruits (and veggies!).

I’ve got the overall pictures to post in a garden update this weekend, but I wanted to get a little closer for these “babies”.

Basil (we've already pinched and used some of this!)

Roma tomatoes

Cherry tomatoes

Spaghetti squash

Watermelon (we have a few at this stage)

Sugar Snap Peas

Green Beans

These were just a few pictures.  Total count shows more (I think we have 5 watermelons at various little stages), but it’s a lot of fun to watch!

Looking good. We got 2 cabbage heads and about 16 green onions out of Papaw’s garden at Mount Olive the last day before we moved out but he had 8 rows of beautiful green beans. Nevertheless, we didn’t get any of those but I’m sure the new owners are enjoying them…..Keep up the good work………….
