The Passion – Our Passion

March 21, 2007

For the last six years, Andrew and I have been involved in our church’s production of the Passion.  The first year I was in the cast and Andrew was on the backstage crew.  The following year I decided I would be better suited behind the scenes and became the assistant to the drama director.  Last year Andrew moved from backstage crew to the backstage manager.  It’s a "season" for us because rehearsals start in January and we wrap up a few weeks after the production.

I am very excited about this year.  We have always used the local high school auditorium and this year our new building is completed and will serve as the venue.  What an amazing thing it will be to have room for everyone to sit and not to have to turn anyone away!

I’m very excited to see what God has in store for us this year, but at the same time I know that every year around this time we start to deal with sicknesses and scheduling conflicts and everything under the sun where the devil is trying to keep us from doing this. This year seems to be a little more so than normal with the issues coming up and we know it’s just par for the course when we’re trying to do something to spread the gospel.

If you are interested in any information on the passion, here are a few web sites you can look at. (some people just like to look!) Wink

The kids love all the running we do this week leading up to the performance dates and the playing they get to do, but the hours and such take a toll on all of us. Could I ask for you to keep not only our family, but the production itself, in your prayers. It’s so awesome being involved in this and really feeling like we’re doing something great to further the kingdom.   If any of you feel led, we would definitely appreciate the prayers!

I will remember the production and your family in my prayers. How wonderful that you all get to be a part of something so great.
